AES 256 Encryption

The Technology

GrandTotal offers the possibility to store your data in an encrypted form. This means that all your sensitive information, such as invoices, customer information, or financial data, can be securely stored using strong encryption. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is an encryption method used to securely store and transmit digital information. The password used to generate the key for the encryption can be safely stored in macOS's keychain.

Security in the Cloud

A major advantage of this encryption feature is that it remains effective even when using a cloud drive for data storage. If you store your encrypted GrandTotal files in the cloud, they remain secure and unreadable to unauthorized parties. This enables a form of end-to-end encryption that makes data exchange between different devices more secure. Even if someone gains unauthorized access to your cloud drive, the encrypted data is useless without the special key.
