Peppol on the Mac: Send and Receive E-Invoices from GrandTotal
Peppol is the European network for e-invoices: the invoice travels from software to software, addressed by a Peppol ID instead of an email address. GrandTotal creates the invoice in Peppol BIS format and sends it straight into the network through the access point Recommand. Your suppliers' invoices come in the same way.
Where Peppol matters

Belgium – B2B mandate via Peppol since 1 January 2026, for sending and receiving.

Sending
- Create an account with Recommand and register your company. An authorised representative confirms it once.
- In GrandTotal, choose PEPPOL via recommand.eu as the delivery method for the client.
- Enter API Key and API Secret in the plugin settings.
- Enter the client's Peppol ID or search the Peppol directory with Look Up.
- Send the invoice. GrandTotal first checks that the recipient is listed in the directory and attaches the PDF if you wish.
Receiving
As soon as one client is invoiced through Recommand, GrandTotal polls the Peppol inbox automatically. Received invoices appear in the overview under Inbound Invoices, each one only once. More in receiving inbound invoices.
What it costs
The plugin is included in GrandTotal L & XL. Recommand charges per document, sent and received combined: 25 documents per month are free, then €0.30 per document, plans from €29 for 200 documents (as of November 2026). For Belgium, e-invoice.be is available as well, see Peppol in Belgium.
