GrandTotal on Mobile Devices

If you travel with your MacBook, GrandTotal is already with you. Web Access is for everyone who travels light: the Mac stays in the office, and you see documents, clients and payments on your phone or tablet, right in the browser. You don't need an Apple device for this; Chrome on Android or Windows will do. Your file stays on the Mac, and the connection is encrypted all the way there.

Your Mac Is the Server

GrandTotal answers every request itself, with its own HTTPS certificate that only your Mac holds. While Web Access is running, the Mac doesn't go to sleep on its own. The display still turns off. A current Mac mini or Mac Studio uses less than 10 watts while doing so.

Pairing via QR Code

You pair a new device with a QR code that GrandTotal shows on the Mac. The code is valid for ten minutes and for exactly one device. The settings list all paired devices, and you remove one with a single click.

Viewing and Editing

Paired devices show documents with their PDF, payments, clients and the catalog. A device can only make changes once you allow it to. It can then create clients and drafts, send invoices and record payments. If a mail server is set up on the Mac, GrandTotal sends the email directly from there. Otherwise you share the PDF from your phone with your mail app. No email goes through our servers.

Why a Relay Is Needed

Behind your router, your Mac cannot be reached from outside. The Relay connects phone and Mac. It sees only encrypted data, no documents, clients or amounts. More in the privacy policy.

Pairing and data flow with Web Access The Mac shows a QR code, the phone scans it with its camera, bypassing the Relay. After that, every request travels encrypted from the browser through the Relay into the Mac. The Relay sees only address, time and IP address; decryption happens only on the Mac, where the file also stays. Ask GrandTotal

Choose an AI agent under Settings › Ask GrandTotal. A fourth section then appears on the phone, and the sparkles at the top right on the iPad. More on Ask GrandTotal.

The agent runs on your Mac and works only with GrandTotal's tools, each conversation with its own key for this file. If the device may not make changes, it only answers questions. Names and addresses always go to the model's provider as placeholders.

Ask Instead of Typing

You speak your question with the keyboard's dictation, such as “Which invoices are overdue?” or “Invoice for Acme Ltd, three hours of consulting”. The answer comes as text, and a new draft appears in the list right away. Sending stays with you.
