EHF Invoices from the Mac: E-Invoicing in Norway with GrandTotal
From 2027, Norwegian businesses send invoices electronically via Peppol, from 2030 they also have to receive them that way. The format is EHF, which is Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. GrandTotal creates EHF invoices and sends them straight into the Peppol network through the access point Recommand.
What applies when
- Since 2019: invoices to public authorities as EHF via Peppol.
- From 2027: sending e-invoices is mandatory for recipients listed in the Peppol directory (ELMA).
- From 2030: receiving e-invoices and digital bookkeeping are mandatory.
How Norway compares with the EU is shown in the e-invoicing overview for Europe.
Creating EHF
The EHF plugin turns an invoice into an EHF file. Before creating it, GrandTotal checks that the required details are there: your organisation number, IBAN and email address, the client's organisation number and address, and an exemption reason for invoice lines without VAT.
Sending and receiving
With PEPPOL via recommand.eu as the delivery method, GrandTotal sends the invoice directly. Norwegian recipients are addressed by their organisation number (Peppol scheme 0192); Look Up finds them in the directory. Supplier invoices arriving in your Peppol inbox appear in the overview automatically. Setup step by step: Peppol on the Mac.
What it costs
EHF is included in GrandTotal L, XL & Classic, sending via Recommand in GrandTotal L & XL. Recommand charges per document: 25 documents per month are free, then €0.30 each, plans from €29 for 200 documents (as of November 2026).
