Online Dashboard

Your Dashboard - Available Everywhere

The GrandTotal Dashboard can be published online. Access your most important business data on the go - whether in meetings, while traveling, or simply from your smartphone. Keep track of all invoices, open items, due and overdue payments - anytime, from any device.

Complete Privacy

As with Interactive Estimates, all data remains strictly confidential through end-to-end encryption. Dashboard data is encrypted before transmission and only decrypted in your browser with a private password. Without this password, the dashboard remains completely inaccessible - even to us. This ensures that your financial data, customer names, and payment information remain private.

Setup

Dashboard Online Settings
  1. Open Settings - Click the settings icon below the Dashboard
  2. Enable Publishing - Turn on the "publish" option
  3. Set Password - Use the password generator for a secure password
  4. Copy Link - Save the link in your browser or share it with your devices

The dashboard is stored encrypted on GrandTotal servers and is only accessible with your password. The view is read-only, so you don't need to worry about accidental changes.

Note: If multiple people publish the dashboard of the same company, you should agree on a shared, secure password.

As an App on Your Home Screen

For even faster access, you can save the dashboard as an icon on your smartphone home screen - just like a regular app:

iPhone & iPad

  1. Open the dashboard link in Safari
  2. Tap the Share icon (square with upward arrow)
  3. Select "Add to Home Screen"
  4. Confirm with "Add"

  2. Tap the menu (three dots in the top right)

  4. Confirm with "Add"

After adding, an icon will appear on your home screen. Tapping it opens your dashboard directly - fast and convenient like a native app.

If the password is shared with the link, how is it secure?

The password is appended to the URL in the fragment identifier (the part after the # symbol). This is a crucial security feature: the fragment is never sent to the server in HTTP requests - it stays entirely within the recipient's browser. This means the password remains local to the recipient's device, where it's used to decrypt the data client-side. Even our servers never see the password, ensuring true end-to-end encryption while maintaining convenience for your recipients. Of course, you can still choose to share the link and password separately through different channels if that fits your workflow better.
